Chacom is a French pipe brand steeped in tradition. The brand was created in 1928 by Henry Comoy and cousin Chapuis. Shortly after the end of World War II the Chacom brand dominated the American and Western European markets. The company is now in the hands of decendents of Comoy's and remains a leading French brand.
Although the Chacom brand was not official until 1928 the evolution to that point began back in 1825. In 1825 was the beginnings of the Comoy family making pipes out of St. Claude, France for Napoleon's army. The two founders of Chacom, an amalgamation of their combined names, actually began working together back in 1879 nearly 50 years prior to the rise of the Chacom brand.
